안녕하세요. 월넛크릭 한국학교 교장 김현경입니다. 월넛크릭은 캘리포니아주의 콘트라 코스타 카운티에 속해 있는 도시로 약 인구 7만명 정도가 살고 있는, 안전하고 교육 인프라가 잘 되어 있는 도시입니다.  그래서 한국에서 단기간 미국을 방문하시는 분들이 자녀분들과 함께 즐겨 방문하는 도시이기도 하지만,  샌프란시스코나 산호세에 비해 한국인이 적다 보니, 한국과 관련된 프로그램이 다양하지 않습니다.  저희 월넛크릭 한국학교는 앞으로 재외동포 한인 학생들에게 한국어,  한국 문화, 한국 역사를 가르치는 일 뿐만 아니라, 더 나아가 이 지역 사회에서 한국의 다양한 면모와 문화의 다양성을 알리는 일을 하고자 합니다. 여러분의 따뜻한 격려와 응원 부탁드립니다. 감사합니다!

Walnut Creek Korean School/Principal Hyun Kyoung Kim

Hello, I’m Hyun Kyung Kim, the principal of Walnut Creek Korean School. Walnut Creek is a city in Contra Costa County, California. It’s well known as a safe and well-educated city and its population is about 70,000. Therefore, it is a city Korean people who come to live in the United States for a short period of time with their children like to stay. There are fewer Koreans living in Walnut Creek than in San Francisco or in San Jose, so there are not many programs related to Korea here.  Our Walnut Creek Korean School will not only teach Korean language, Korean culture, and Korean history to students, but also promote the diversity of cultures in this community.
